20 Feet from Stardom
Mick Jagger is reportedly looking at turning Oscar-nominated documentary “20 Feet From Stardom” into both a one-hour scripted TV series and a Broadway musical.

The doco follows the stories of several important backup singers and featured interviews with Jagger himself. The TV series would be different in that the focus would be on contemporary artists. [Source: Rolling Stone]

Transporter The Series
TNT has picked up “Transporter The Series” for broadcast in the United States. TNT will air the first and second seasons of the series this Fall 2014.

The second season goes into production next month in Morocco, the Czech Republic and Canada. Star Chris Vance is already a TNT regular thanks to a recurring role on “Rizzoli and Isles”. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Secrets
BBC1 has commissioned Working Title Television to produce drama strand “The Secrets” which will pair emerging writers with established acting and directing talent.

The strand will comprise 5 x 30-minute dramas, with a five-week shoot launching in London this week ahead of broadcast later this year. Director Dominic Savage will oversee all five episodes, which are connected by an explosive secret. [Source: Screen]
