Spartacus: Blood and Sand
Starz announced plans today to order a second season of its new Sam Raimi-produced original series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand”.

What’s strange is that the renewal comes more than one month prior to the debut of the program starring Andy Whitfield, Lucy Lawless and John Hannah. The show’s look utilises virtual environments, giving it a very “300”-style feel.

The 13-episode second season, expected to be titled “Spartacus: Vengeance”, will start production in New Zealand on 13 new episodes in the first quarter of 2010.

White Collar
USA Network’s freshman dramedy “White Collar” has been renewed for a second season, though no word on how many episodes or a premiere date. Though not a breakout hit like “Burn Notice”, the show has scored a solid audience with 5.55 million viewers tuning in for the season finale, up from the 5.4m for the show’s premiere.

Lost
A new one-minute trailer for the upcoming final season, once again no new footage but it’s a well-edited together trailer nonetheless – certainly stronger than the previous nine promos cut for the season.

Doctor Who
“The Waters of Mars” finally hit the States last weekend and despite being available online for a month, it still managed to pull in 1.1 million viewers for BBC America, the network’s highest ever primetime rating.
