Toby Kebbell has been cast in the main role in the M. Night Shyamalan thriller series at Apple. Tony Basgallop will serve as writer and executive producer. Shyamalan will executive produce and direct the first episode.

The story follows a married couple that hires a young woman to serve as the nanny to their child. Kebbell will play the father, a professional chef. Lauren Ambrose is the wife, while Nell Tiger Free and Rupert Grint co-star. [Source: Variety]

Dr. Mirage
The CW is developing a drama series adaptation of the Valiant graphic novel “Dr. Mirage” with “Reign” co-creator Laurie McCarthy, DMG Entertainment and CBS Television Studios producing.

The comic follows a female paranormal investigator who can communicate with dead souls except for the one she wants to reach – the love of her life. McCarthy replaces “Annabelle” scribe Gary Dauberman who was attached to a previously in development version two years ago. [Source: Deadline]

“Major Crimes” actress Jessica Meraz has scored the recurring role of Pamela Ferrer aka Menagerie in The CW’s “Supergirl”. The DC villain is a member of The Elite, an assembly of antiheroes led by Manchester Black (David Ajala). In the series, she’s a jewel thief who doesn’t mind hurting people. [Source: TV Line]

Star Trek: Discovery
CBS All Access has dropped a new TV spot for the upcoming second season of “Star Trek: Discovery” which returns to the streamer next month. The clip takes on a slightly darker tone than other more adventurous ones that have so far been used to market the new season.
