Pop TV has announced a January 7th 2020 premiere date for the fourteen-episode sixth and final season of the half-hour, single-camera comedy “Schitt’s Creek”. Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, Jennifer Robertson, Noah Reid, Dustin Milligan, Sarah Levy, and Karen Robinson star in the series which received four Emmy Award nominations this year. The Titan Games
NBC has renewed the Dwayne Johnson-hosted competition series “The Titan Games” for a second season. The series follows men and women battling opponents in head-to-head physical challenges designed by Johnson. Winners advance to Mt. Olympus which is a test of speed, strength, agility and endurance.
Miami beer truck driver James Jean-Louis and Atlanta metabolic technician Charity Witt won the top prize of the first season which averaged a 1.7 rating and 6 million viewers an episode. [Source: NBC]
FOX has begun development of the one-hour drama “Everyday Insanity” which will be executive produced by Sterling K. Brown. Inspired by the life events of series creator Laura Bensick, the uplifting drama follows three wildly different families who form a ‘created family’ to support each other after their loved ones are diagnosed with mental illnesses. The CW is developing a drama series based on V.E. Schwab’s book series “The Archived” with the project hailing from “Jane the Virgin” writer Liz Sczudlo and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman.
In the series, the eldest child in a family of ghost hunters, Bex has trained her entire life for the day she’ll take up the mantle of ‘the chosen one’. But when her dad dies and her local-weather-girl sister wakes up with the familial powers instead, these night-and-day sisters will have to figure out how to work together and save the world. Netflix has ordered the six-part Danish supernatural thriller series “Equinox” based on the well-known podcast ‘Equinox 1985’. Created by Tea Lindeburg, the story takes place in Denmark and follows a woman named Anna who was traumatized by the mysterious disappearance of a school class in 1999, when she was 10.
Twenty years later, Anna sets off to discover what happened to the class when she finds out that the only survivor from 1999 mysteriously died. The character-driven series toggles between 1999 and the present time. The series is set to start shooting later this year. [Source: THR]
