TV News: Renewals, Tyrant, Monsters, 24

HBO’s “Vice and” MTV’s “Girl Code” have both been renewed for a second season, while IFC’s “Portlandia” has been renewed for two more ten-episode seasons. [Source: Deadline]

Monsters of God
Starz is developing the post-Civil War drama series “Monsters of God” from “The Contender” director Rod Lurie and Plan B Entertainment. The action is set in 1867 Texas during the Comanche Wars.

The story follows two powerful ex-cavalry men — a war-hungry colonel and his seemingly by-the-book executive officer — who struggle to maintain order over the men in their command as they’re faced with the challenges of an uncivilized territory. [Source: The Live Feed]

24: Live Another Day
Jon Cassar, who produced and directed 59 episodes of “24” from its second through seventh seasons, is returning for Fox’s “24: Live Another Day” event series.
