TV News: Promos, Singularity, Full, McMafia

Two promos and a featurette have premiered this week for shows that kicked off recently and were successful enough to warrant a second season which will premiere shortly – WGN America’s “Outsiders,” Amazon’s “The Man in the High Castle” and Showtime’s “Billions”. Check them out below:

Robert Downey Jr. will produce and direct “Singularity,” a new TV series starring Anthony Michael Hall which will be produced by Sonar Entertainment and Team Downey Productions.

Hall will topline the project and Downey Jr. will direct the pilot, story details are unknown at this point. Susan Downey will produce. [Source: The Wrap]

Full Frontal
Samantha Bee’s weekly political satire series “Full Frontal” on TBS has been renewed for a second season. Next year’s show will change timeslots, airing on Wednesday nights in 2017 from January 11th.

Bee’s show beats several of her male late night contemporaries, pulling in an average 3.3 million viewers across platforms, and the recent quarter saw her showing among adults 18-49 grow by 37%. [Source: THR]

AMC and BBC Worldwide North America have inked a co-production pact for upcoming drama “McMafia” which BBC had initially commissioned a year ago. James Norton stars as the British-raised son of Russian exiles who has spent his life trying to crawl out from the shadow of his family‚Äôs mafia past.

He soon finds himself enmeshed in a world of corruption stretching from London to Mumbai to Moscow and everywhere in between. David Strathairn and Juliet Rylance co-star in the series created by “Drive” scribe Hossein Amini. [Source: Variety]
