TV News: Preacher, Manhunt, Underground, Mouse

With a month to go before the premiere, AMC’s TV series adaptation of the acclaimed “Preacher” comics has released multiple photos and launched a new promo counting down to the start of what will hopefully be an acclaimed run. Ruth Negga can be seen in the clip in her role as ex-girlfriend Tulip O’Hare, one of three major roles which also include Dominic Cooper as the preacher himself Jesse Custer, and Joe Gilgun as his hard-drinking Irish vampire buddy Cassidy.

“Happy Endings” creator David Caspe, “Horrible Bosses” director Seth Gordon, Black List writer Jordan Cahan and “Life In Pieces” executive producer Aaron Kaplan are all teaming for the half-hour buddy action comedy series “Manhunt” at Showtime. WGN America’s breakout original drama series “Underground” has been renewed for a second season with a ten-episode order set to premiere in 2017. Production will begin this summer.

The series draws three million total viewers in Live+7 results and was the No. 1 original scripted series on cable last Wednesday night across all key demos in Live+3. It’s also the No. 1 most social cable drama on Wednesday nights. [Source: Deadline]

Danger Mouse
Netflix has posted the opening credits for their “Danger Mouse” animated series which is set to debut on the streaming service on April 29th. The super spy mouse (Alexander Armstrong) and his bumbling assistant Penfold (Kevin Eldon) return to tackle a host of rivals, joined by various voice talents including Stephen Fry, Lena Headey and John Oliver.
