Peaky Blinders
Netflix has set an October 4th premiere date for the international release of the fifth season of BAFTA-winning crime saga “Peaky Blinders”. The show kicks off in the UK with six episodes from August 25th with the global release (outside of the UK) taking place around the same time as the finale airs in Blighty. Drew Barrymore
With “Santa Clarita Diet” sadly receiving the axe from Netflix, Drew Barrymore is checking out other gigs and reportedly is trying out a whole new field – a daytime talk show. The actress is reportedly filming a pilot for such a series for CBS, though the network won’t comment. Former MMA fighter Ronda Rousey has joined the cast of the third season of FOX’s “9-1-1”. Rousey is set to recur as Lena, a fearless member of the LAFD’s Station 136 in the new episodes which kick off September 23rd. The Nevers
Kiran Sonia Sawar, Elizabeth Berrington, Ella Smith, Viola Prettejohn, Anna Devlin and Martyn Ford will join Laura Donnelly, Olivia Williams, and Nick Frost in Joss Whedon’s new HBO series “The Nevers”. Whedon serves as writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner while Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie will write and executive produce. The Walking Dead
Joe Holt (“The Punisher”) has scored a key recurring role in AMC’s upcoming untitled third series in “The Walking Dead” franchise. Holt will play Leo Bennett, a solid family man and respected professor with a generous heart and unwavering optimism for the future. He’d risk his life to save the people he cares about.
