TV News: Party, Supernatural, Futurama

Party Down

The Starz Network has decided not to renew its comedies “Party Down” and “Gravity” reports Deadline.

While the off-beat comedy stylings of ‘Party’ have scored fans and acclaim, especially for lead Adam Scott’s performance, the show’s appeal apparently just wasn’t wide enough for the network to continue with it.

Supernatural

Filming on the sixth season kicks off today with the fourth episode going first according to actor Jim Beaver’s Twitter. The reason? Actor Jensen Ackles is stepping behind the camera to direct and due to scheduling, the first episode of production is his only opportunity to do so.

Meanwhile The CW has announced that the show is scheduled to return on September 24th, premiering in its new timeslot of Fridays at 9pm.

Futurama

The season premiere of “Futurama”, its first new episode in seven years, scored 2.9 million viewers and a 1.9 key demo rating on Comedy Central reports The Live Feed.

The result helped the network to its highest-rated night in 2010, its highest-rated Thursday primetime in the history of the network, and tied for the highest-rated show in adults 18-49 across all TV on Thursday’s primetime.
