Scottish actor Sam Heughan (“Doctors”) is in talks to star in the lead role of Jamie Fraser in the TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” novel series.

Starz has ordered sixteen episodes of the series which begin filming in Scotland this Fall ahead of a debut on Starz next year. [Source: Deadline]

Citing insufficient viewer demand, The BBC will discontinue broadcasting 3D content past the end of 2013.
