TV News: Outlander, Ascension, Veep, Out

During the “Black Sails” finale this weekend, Starz released a new trailer for Ronald D. Moore’s upcoming series adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s time-travel romance drama “Outlander”. The series is currently targeting a Summer release, but no specific date is yet set.

Syfy has done a deal for a six-hour event series “Ascension” which will premiere in November from creator Philip Levens (“Smallville”). Filming will take place in Montreal.

The story follows a generational starship which departed Earth covertly in 1963. Fifty years on, a young woman is mysteriously murdered, prompting the population to question the nature of the mission as they near the point of no return. [Source: The Live Feed]

Entertainment One is teaming with author Gloria Killian for “Inside-Out,” an adaptation of her book “Full Circle” into a drama series.

The story follows a woman wrongfully convicted for her husband’s murder who puts herself through law school while she is in prison, gains her acquittal and dedicates her life to helping others hurt by the legal system. She also tries to reconnect with an alcoholic mother and an estranged young daughter. [Source: The Live Feed]
