The Office
Catherine Tate (“Doctor Who”) will reprise her role as Nellie Bertram, a misguided special projects manager, in the second half of the current season of the US version of “The Office”.

Tate appeared in the previous season finale as one of the candidates hoping to replace outgoing regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell).

Tate’s character will be hired by friend and chairman of the board Jo Bennett (Kathy Bates) working directly for the corporate office. [Source: BBC]

Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are set to produce “Players”, a half-hour comedy following the lives of college athletes for HBO.

Meanwhile “True Blood” showrunner Alan Ball is developing “Wichita”, an hour-long medical drama about a Kansas abortion doctor, for the network. [Source: Collider]

Oki’s Oasis
Mandy Moore will voice the lead character in Disney Junior’s animated series “Oki’s Oasis” which begins airing in 2013.

Moore plays a cat who is the sheriff of the friendliest town in the west. Each episode will feature two 11-minute stories and two original songs. [Source: Variety]

Michael Bay is set to produce the hour-long drama “Outsiders” for The CW. Adam Glass penned the pilot which follows a quirky sociology professor with an almost savant-like expertise in subcultures.

He is partnered with a young but uptight female detective and the pair solve crimes involving youths and subcultures in Los Angeles. [Source: Vulture]
