TV News: Nikita, Torchwood, Men, Fringe

Canadian hunk Dillon Casey has joined the cast of the second season of The CW’s “Nikita”.

The actor will portray Army Special Ops officer Sean Pierce who is assigned to retrieve the black box that includes Division’s secrets, and must keep tabs on Amanda (Melinda Clarke).

Casey portrayed Noah on “The Vampire Diaries” and will shortly appear as a bartender who shares a steamy gay love scene with Captain Jack Harkness on “Torchwood: Miracle Day”. [Source: The Live Feed]

Torchwood: Miracle Day
The first episode airing of “Torchwood: Miracle Day” in the U.K. pulled in 4.8 million viewers in overnight ratings on BBC One and a 21% share, that doesn’t include DVR or iView figures which will push it up.

That figure is down on the previous season, “Torchwood: Children of Earth”, which scored overnight ratings of 5.9 million for its premiere – a figure that jumped to 6.47 million viewers when DVR and iView were added. However ‘Day’ won its timeslot and was the fifth most watched broadcast of the day behind the four major soaps.

In the U.S. last weekend ‘Miracle Day’ pulled in 819,000 viewers over on Starz for its 10pm first airing, an increase on the average of 705,000 viewers who tuned in for episodes of “Torchwood: Children of Earth” on BBC America two years ago. DVR and other figures have still yet to be calculated. [Source: DWNews]
