A Moody Christmas
Elizabeth Perkins is set to star opposite Denis Leary in Fox’s half-hour single-camera comedy series “A Moody Christmas” airing in December. CBS TV Studios and Fox Entertainment will co-produce the series which is being planned as an ongoing event series with limited runs at regular intervals.
Written by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill, the six-episode series centers on the Moodys (Leary & Perkins) and their three grown children and an assorted mix of extended family members who gather for the holidays, with each packing his/her own eccentricities and complications. Anna Kendrick and Paul Feig’s new romantic comedy anthology series “Love Life” for the HBO Max streaming service has added Scoot McNairy, Sasha Compere, Zoe Chao and Peter Vack to its cast. “Love Life” hails from creator Sam Boyd and is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment.
Kendrick is set to star in and executive produce the series which will follow a different protagonist’s quest for love each season, with each episode telling the story of one of their relationships. [Source: Variety]
FOX has released the first teaser for the third season of its action procedural “9-1-1” which begins with a natural disaster that’s about to hit Santa Monica Beach. The series is based on the real-life, high-pressure experiences of emergency response providers who are thrust into heart-stopping situations that are equal parts unpredictable, intense and uplifting. It returns September 23rd.
Katrina Law (“Arrow,” “The Oath”) has joined the upcoming tenth season of CBS hit drama “Hawaii Five-O” as a new series regular, the team’s newest sharp-tongued recruit Quinn Liu. She’s a former staff sergeant with Army CID and was recently demoted for insubordination. After an explosive collision with Five-O on a case involving veterans, she becomes a loyal ally who values integrity over playing by the rules. [Source: Deadline]
AMC’s series “Lodge 49” has released a trailer for its second season which premiered earlier this week. The series follows the adventures of three people linked together as they navigate life in an idyllic Long Beach. Wyatt Russell, Sonya Cassidy, Brent Jennings, Linda Emond, Eric Allan Kramer, and David Pasquesi co-star.
