Paul Bettany is in negotiations to star in the John Madden-directed Showtime drama pilot “Masters of Sex” at Sony Pictures TV.

An adaptation of Thomas Maier’s book, the show chronicles the lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of 1960s human sexuality pioneers Masters (Bettany) and Johnson whose research touched off the sexual revolution. [Source: Deadline]

NBC has acquired the drama pilot “Legends” at Fox TV. Jeffrey Nachmanoff (“Homeland”) and Howard Gordon (“24”) will executive produce.

Nachmanoff will direct his own script, about an undercover agent who takes on legendary identities — while coming to face the possibility that his own identity is fictional as well. [Source: Variety]
