Mad About You
On-demand platform Spectrum Originals has picked up the proposed revival of “Mad About You” starring Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt reprising their roles of Paul and Jamie Buchman for a twelve-episode ‘limited series’.
The new series will revolve around Paul and Jamie grappling with empty-nest syndrome in the wake of now-17-year-old daughter Mabel’s admission to college. The project marks Spectrum’s second original following the upcoming “Bad Boys” spin-off “L.A.’s Finest” which debuts May 13th. [Source: TV Line]
Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”) and Famke Janssen (“X-Men”) will join Callum Turner, Holliday Grainger, Laura Haddock, Sophia Brown, Ben Miles and Paul Ritter in the six-part BBC One spy drama “The Capture”.
Ben Chanan pens and directs the London-set story which begins with the unjust arrest of an innocent man and escalate into a multi-layered conspiracy of manipulated evidence. Chanan, David Heyman, Tom Winchester, Rosie Alison, Ben Irving and Tom Coan will executive produce. [Source: Deadline]
Walton Goggins (“Justified,” “Tomb Raider”) has been cast in the lead role of the CBS single camera comedy pilot “The Unicorn”. Goggins will play a recent widower and devoted big-hearted father to two adolescent girls. His friends persuade him to start dating again and he discovers to his shock that he’s kind of a hot commodity. [Source: Variety]
Russell Hornsby (“The Hate U Give,” “Grimm”) has scored the titular role in NBC’s “Lincoln,” the upcoming TV drama pilot based on Jeffery Deaver’s book series that began with “The Bone Collector” which was previously adapted into the Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie-led 1999 film.
Hornsby will play legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme who is seriously injured during his hunt for a diabolic serial killer. Called back into action, Rhyme forms a unique partnership with young beat cop Amelia Sachs who helps him. [Source: Deadline]
