TV News: Luther, Batman, Glee, SDCC, Cape

BBC America has picked up the rights to air the first season of the psychological crime thriller series “Luther,” starring Idris Elba (“The Wire”), later this year.

The six-episode first season aired its season finale last night in the UK. The show started out with weak reviews but a decent audience of 5.8 million, by episode five the reviews had definitely improved (especially for Elba and co-star Ruth Wilson’s performances) but the audience had dropped to 3.1 million.

The First Post reports that a decision on whether a second series of Luther will be commissioned is yet to be made by The BBC.
