Netflix will divide the fifth and final season of supernatural drama “Lucifer” into two blocks of eight-episodes each with a gap of indeterminate length in between. Disney+ has ordered ten episodes of the docuseries “Becoming” from LeBron James and his Springhill Entertainment along with ESPN Films, Spoke Studios and ITV America. CBS Corp and Viacom’s $30 billion merger and all-stock deal has been approved by parent company National Amusements, the companies saying this satisfies the closing conditions to the merger and, pending other customary closing conditions, the merger is expected to be completed by early December. The half-hour series adaptation of Alissa Nutting’s darkly absurd novel of divorce and revenge follows a lovestruck marine biologist who supplies the brains behind the titular technology.
