The Last Kids on Earth
Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Keith David, Bruce Campbell, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez and Charles Demers will join Nick Wolfhard in the voice cast of Netflix’s forthcoming animated series “The Last Kids on Earth”.
Based on the books by Max Brallier, the story follows 13-year-old Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers who live in a decked-out tree house and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. Scott Peterson serves as showrunner. [Source: Deadline]
Netflix Inc. has announced that “Persona,” an anthology series composed of four short films, will launch globally in April. The project will star Lee Ji-eun, better known by her K-Pop stage name IU.
Lee Kyung-mi, Im Pil-sung, Jeon Go-woon and Kim Jong-kwan will helm the shorts, each depicting four personas played by Lee Ji-eun. They’re titled Love Set, Collector, Kiss Burn and Walking at Night. [Source: Broadway World]
An Anonymous Girl
USA Network has announced plans for a series adaptation of Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen’s novel “An Anonymous Girl” which eOne will produce. Josh Goldin and Rachel Abramowitz (“Prison Break”) will pen and executive produce.
The story follows a young woman who signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr. Shields. As the questions grow more intense and invasive, and the outings more controlling, she begins to feel Dr. Shields knows what she’s thinking… and hiding. [Source: Variety]
All the Light We Cannot See
Netflix and 21 Laps have acquired the rights to Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller “All The Light We Cannot See” to develop into a limited series. A writer is not yet attached to the project.
The story follows Marie-Laure, a blind French teenager, and Werner, a German soldier, whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II. Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Josh Barry will serve as executive producers. [Source: Deadline]
Former “The Sopranos” alum Michael Imperioli will play NYPD detective Rick Sellitto, the old partner of legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme, in the NBC pilot “Lincoln” based on Jeffrey Deaver’s “The Bone Collector” novels. Seth Gordon will direct the pilot episode.
The series follows legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme (Russell Hornsby), who was seriously injured during his hunt for the diabolic serial killer known as the Bone Collector.
