Disney+ has announced “Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge,” the first live-action participation reality series set within the “Star Wars” franchise. The kids game show tests young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight. The second season of Amazon’s “Jack Ryan” series starring John Krasinski has an average minute audience of over 4.6 million after seven days of delayed viewing reports Nielsen, while its premiere episode drew 7.3 million viewers in the same metric over its first seven days of availability and overall the season has had over 9.2 million unique U.S. TV viewers. Those numbers reportedly represent the largest for any Amazon show that Nielsen has measured and up by about 25% on the first season. The show has already been renewed for a third season. The Biggest Star in Appleton
Kristin Chenoweth is set to star in the single-camera comedy series “The Biggest Star in Appleton” currently in the works at Disney+. Chenoweth will play Carol Dannhauser, a Wisconsin mom and waitress who finds her deepest joy in life in her starring roles at the local community theater. Her position as the town star is threatened when a struggling New York chorus girl moves back home. Paul Rudnick will write and executive produce while Chenoweth and Dan Jinks also executive produce. “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot is set to executive produce a U.S. version of the hit Israeli crime drama “Queens”. The original followed the women of the Malka family who must band together after all the Malka men are murdered by a rival crime syndicate. Thrust into a life that they did not choose or necessarily want, the women realize they can finally control their own destinies and respond to each other and the world around them as complete individuals, all while trying to stay alive. BBC One has announced a three consecutive night run, kicking off on New Year’s Day, for its upcoming “Dracula” series from “Sherlock” creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat. Claes Bang, Sacha Dhawan, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Catherine Schell, Youssef Kerkour and Clive Russell co-star in the series which will then screen on Netflix shortly after it wraps its UK run. 9-1-1: Lone Star
FOX has released a new promo for their spinoff series “9-1-1: Lone Star” which follows a new team of firefighters led by Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler. Lowe plays a sophisticated New York firefighter who, along with his son, re-locates to Austin, and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life. A two-night event premiere kicks off on January 19th and 20th.
