American Horror Story: Apocalypse
“American Horror Story” showrunner Ryan Murphy has posted a photo on Twitter of much of the cast of the third season ‘Coven’ reunited on set for filming of the upcoming eighth season ‘Apocalypse’. New episodes kick off September 12th.
The new season is a crossover between the show’s first and third seasons, both had decidedly different tones and endings, along with some overlapping actors, so it’s not clear what the new season will involve. [Source: Twitter]
“The Hangover” star Ken Jeong and action legend Carl Weathers will guest star on the first season of CBS’ “Magnum P.I.” reboot. Jeong plays Lee Ji-Won, a local old-school private investigator who plays poker with Magnum (Jay Hernandez).
Weathers is Dan, an old-school Marine with integrity who is struggling to pay his bills as a fisherman and asks Magnum for help finding a 350-pound tuna he caught that was been stolen. The new series premieres September 24th. [Source: EW]
Inbar Lavi (“Imposters”) has joined the cast of the fourth season of “Lucifer”. The show is getting a shortened ten episode new run on Netflix following in the wake of its cancellation by FOX.
Lavi will play Eve, the first female human who has grown bored in her marriage with Adam and goes back after her the first female human – the devil himself. [Source: TV Insider]
Random Acts of Flyness
HBO has renewed its critically praised late-night series “Random Acts of Flyness” for a second season. Created, written and directed by artist Terence Nance, the series explores “evergreen cultural idioms such as patriarchy, white supremacy and sensuality from a thought-provoking perspective”. The six-episode first season began on August 3rd. [Source: HBO]
The full trailer has arrived for the second season of Netflix’s “Atypical,” the coming of age comedy featuring a young man (Keir Gilchrist) on the autism spectrum. The new season kicks off September 7th.
