TV News: Homeland, Comedians, Hotel, Supergirl

Showtime has announced an October 4th premiere date for both the fifth season of its long-running thriller series “Homeland” along with the second season of its infidelity drama “The Affair”.

The new season of “Homeland” is set two years later and sees Carrie (Claire Danes) in self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist. [Source: Deadline]

The Comedians
FX has opted not to renew the Billy Crystal and Josh Gad-led mockumentary-style comedy series “The Comedians” after its first season run, effectively cancelling it.

Executive producer Ben Wexler broke the news Thursday morning on social media. The series pulled in weak ratings and failed to receive any awards recognition in recent weeks. [Source: Variety]

American Horror Story: Hotel
Lily Rabe is in talks to return for FX’s anthology show “American Horror Story: Hotel” in the role of a serial killer who has stayed at the titular hotel. Rabe would take on a major role in the upcoming fifth season after mostly sitting out ‘Freak Show’. [Source: The Live Feed]

CBS has unveiled a fantastic new poster and a new promo for their “Supergirl” TV series with the latter premiering on “Entertainment Tonight”. The superhero drama kicks off on October 26th and is said to feature infamous DC villain Reactron in its third episode.
