Vulture reports that NBC is so confident in its new line-up of shows, six of which have already been commissioned as series, that plans to bring back “Heroes” for a truncated fifth season now look to be deader than corduroy.
However there’s apparently a good chance the network will at least try to find a way to fund a 2-4 hour movie event in order to give some finality to the franchise. The final decision won’t be revealed until the upfronts.
Steven Spielberg has taped a special introductory message that will be presented to advertisers if Fox orders the show to series says EW.
The story, which focuses on a family from 2149 A.D. that become trapped in the prehistoric era, will kick off filming in Hawaii later this summer should Fox commit to a thirteen-episode first season.
Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films and “True Blood” showrunner Alan Ball are teaming on an HBO film based on the nonfiction bestseller “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”.
Rebecca Skloot’s book tells the true tale of Henrietta Lacks, a poor black woman who died of cervical cancer in 1951. Pieces of the tumor that killed her were removed and used for medical exploration and without consent.
