TV News: Heathers, Bridge, Bad

Bravo is adding five dramas into its development pipeline including a reboot of 1988 cult movie “Heathers” that Jenny Bicks (“The Big C”) will produce.

The story picks up 20 years later, with Veronica (Winona Ryder’s character) returning home to Sherwood with her teenage daughter, who must contend with the next generation of mean girls: the Ashleys, who’re the daughters of the surviving Heathers. [Source: The Live Feed]

The Bridge
Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo (“Miss Bala”) will direct the pilot for FX’s remake of the acclaimed Scandinavian series “The Bridge”. Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid wrote the new version which shifts the action to North America.

The story centers on two detectives from the United States and Mexico who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the border after a dead body is found on the bridge connecting El Paso and Juarez. [Source: Deadline]

Breaking Bad
Animator Martin Woutisseth has created an alternate title sequence for AMC’s acclaimed drama “Breaking Bad”, replacing the quick meth smoke and periodic table title card with a lengthy cast piece covering not just the regulars but some of the smaller roles as well such as the ax-wielding Mexican cartel brothers.
