Happy Endings
After ABC cancelled cult comedy “Happy Endings,” Sony TV began exploring interest in the property at other networks such as USA.

A few weeks later though, USA has opted not to proceed with the pickup due to the low ratings on ABC. [Source: Deadline]

Starz has given a 16-episode series order to the Ron Moore-produced drama series based on Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling fantasy/romance/adventure novel series “Outlander”. Shooting begins in October in Scotland.

The story follows a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly steps back in time to year 1743. She is soon forced to marry a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior. [Source: Deadline]

Dan Harmon is returning as show runner for the fifth season of “Community” on NBC. Harmon is formalizing his deal with producer Sony Pictures Television to return.

Writer and executive producer Chris McKenna is also formalizing his return. Harmon replaces David Guarascio and Moses Port who oversaw season four which saw critics claiming the show had lost its edge. [Source: The Live Feed]
