TV News: Gotham, Arrow, SHIELD, Freak

CBM has posted an apparent first look at beloved actress Carol Kane in Fox’s upcoming Batman prequel series “Gotham”. Kane plays ‘Gertrud Kapelput,’ the mother of Robin Lord Taylor’s Oswald Cobblepot character who will go on to become the villain The Penguin. Her character has previously been described as a “proud and faded beauty with delusions of grandeur.”

Nolan Funk (“Glee,” “Awkward”) has joined the cast of the third season of The CW’s “Arrow”. Funk will appear in episode five, “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak”.

Funk plays Cooper Seldon, Felicity’s hacker boyfriend from her days at MIT. It is unclear whether he will be appearing in flashbacks or in the present day. [Source: The Live Feed]

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD
After teasing it a few weeks back, ABC has now unveiled a new billboard for the second season of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”. Someone has snapped a photo of the billboard which ties back to the final moment of last season’s finale in which Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) was shown carving strange symbols into a wall.

Prolific TV producer Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “The Mysteries of Laura”) has been given a script plus penalty commitment for his FBI thriller “Blindspot” from NBC. Martin Gero will pen the script and executive produce the drama alongside Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

The story centers on an FBI agent who is drawn into a complex conspiracy when a naked amnesiac is found in Times Square covered in fresh tattoos … including his name on her back. [Source: The Live Feed]
