Fox has announced the network has picked up a second season of “Glee” and is holding a casting call to fill three new roles next season. The new cast members will be revealed in the premiere episode next Fall, while the remaining nine episodes of Season One begin April 13th.
Fox confirmed rumors today that this upcoming season will be Simon Cowell’s last as a judge on “American Idol.” Instead he will launch “The X Factor” in the U.S. as an executive producer and judge in Fall 2011.
The Season 3 premiere pulled in 7.5 million viewers, a 21% increase over Season 2’s average and amongst the best numbers the series has ever pulled.
NBC’s midseason drama “Day One” has been shrunk even further. The original order of thirteen episodes were cut back to four a while ago, and now the network has scrapped the additional two leaving just the two-hour pilot. The story chronicles life on Earth after a global catastrophe and the now TV movie will air after the Winter Olympics. Should it agree well, the door is still open for a potential series pick-up.
AMC will premiere the highly anticipated third season of “Breaking Bad” on Sunday, March 21st at 10pm ET/PT. Emmy winning star Bryan Cranston will serve double duty as director of the premiere episode.
