Katie Holmes has been tapped as the lead star of Fox’s currently untitled FBI drama pilot from former “Empire” showrunner Ilene Chaiken and Melissa Scrivner Love. Holmes is also set to executive produce the project which would mark her first series-regular role since “Dawson’s Creek”.

The story centers on FBI Special Agent Hazel Otis (Holmes), who is in the midst of investigating a domestic terrorism threat when a personal indiscretion – an affair with a prominent general – shatters her life and threatens her career at the FBI. Consider Phlebas
Amazon Studios has acquired the global TV rights to “Consider Phlebas,” the first novel in Iain M. Banks’ classic ten book sci-fi series “Culture” with plans to adapt it into a TV series from “Utopia” creator Dennis Kelly and Plan B Entertainment.

The kinetic, action-packed adventure in which a highly advanced and progressive society ends up at war with the Idirans, a deeply religious and warlike race intent on dominating the entire galaxy. A rogue agent is tasked by the Idirans with the impossible mission of recovering a missing Culture ‘Mind,’ an A.I. thousands of times smarter than any human. [Source: Deadline]

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
Marvel TV has begun development of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur”, an animated TV series based on the hit comic book series about nine-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette. This African-America girl teams up with her crimson-colored dinosaur and uses her smarts to save the day. The project is in consideration for a Disney Channels Worldwide series. [Source: Marvel]

God Friended Me
Joe Morton has joined the cast of the CBS drama pilot “God Friended Me”. The series follows an outspoken atheist named Miles (Brandon Michael Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he is ‘friended’ by God on Facebook. Unwittingly, he becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. Morton will play Reverend Arthur Finer and joins a cast that includes Suraj Sharma and Javicia Leslie. Whiskey Cavalier
Lauren Cohan (“The Walking Dead”) has reportedly booked the lead role in the ABC drama pilot “Whiskey Cavalier”. hour-long action dramedy follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super agent (Scott Foley) who, following an emotional break-up, is assigned to work with badass CIA operative (Cohan).

Cohan does not currently have a contract in place to return for the AMC zombie series’ ninth season. If “Whiskey Cavalier” moves forward, it is possible Cohan could return to ‘Dead’ on a recurring basis or leave the show entirely. [Source: Variety]
