American Horror Story: Freak Show
FX has announced that “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” the upcoming fourth season in the hit horror series, will premiere on Wednesday, October 8th at 10pm.

The story centers around one of the last remaining freak shows in existence in Florida in the 1950s. The world’s smallest woman, Jyoti Amge, has also joined the cast. [Source: FX]

Childhood’s End
Syfy has ordered a six-hour miniseries adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke’s famed sci-fi novel “Childhood’s End”. “Doctor Who” helmer Nick Hurran and scribe Matthew Graham will direct and pen the project respectively, while Michael De Luca and Akiva Goldsman will produce.

The story follows a peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords, whose arrival ends all war and turns the planet into a near-utopia. [Source: Deadline]

Promised Land
Amazon is working on “Promised Land,” a sweeping biblical tale based on the Book of Joshua and told through the eyes of two brothers, one high born and the other a low level soldier. Noah Oppenheim and Chris Bremner are attached to write and executive produce.

Set in the wake of Moses’s death, the tribes of Israel find themselves in disarray. This will explore how Joshua became the leader of the Jews and the Israelites became a nation. [Source: The Live Feed]

Star Wars: Rebels
USA Today has premiered the second of four new short films promoting the upcoming premiere of the animated series “Star Wars Rebels” on Disney XD. The new short focuses on Mandalorian explosives expert Sabine Wren (voiced by Tiya Sircar) who starts off the clip trying to tag a TIE Fighter with the Rebel Alliance logo.
