Santa Clarita Diet
Shalita Grant (“NCIS: New Orleans”) has scored a recurring role in the third season of Netflix’s darkly comedic series “Santa Clarita Diet”. Grant will play FBI agent Tess Rogers, who is looking into a recent explosion at a fracking site in Santa Clarita. Created by Victor Fresco, the story follows husband and wife realtors dealing with the issue of the wife’s status as a member of the undead. [Source: Deadline]

The Royals
E! has cancelled the one-hour drama series “The Royals” after four seasons. The most recent season in Live+Same Day viewing averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and around 400,000 viewers per episode – down 30% from the third season.

Elizabeth Hurley, Max Brown and William Moseley starred in the series which hit controversy when series creator and showrunner Mark Schwahn was fired from the show in December when allegations of sexual harassment emerged. [Source: Variety]

The Gilded Age
“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes “The Gilded Age” looks to be finally happening with Michael Engler coming onboard to direct the two-hour NBC premiere which is slated to debut in spring 2019.

Set in New York in the 1880s, the 10-episode first season follows a new-money family trying to join the ranks of the Astors and Vanderbilts. The drama has been in development for more than six years. [Source: Variety]

Kidding
Showtime has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for its new half-hour comedy series “Kidding” starring Jim Carrey in his first series regular role in more than two decades. Carrey discusses his character Jeff aka Mr. Pickles in the series – a kids TV host whose family life begins to implode. The series will premiere on Sunday, September 9th.
