“Entourage” executive producer Mark Wahlberg tells The Hollywood Reporter that a film version of the hit HBO show could happen, but not until the show is over.
The actor/producer said he believes there are two more seasons left in the show. After that? “We’ll see; there could be more. But then, a movie”
“It is not out of the realm of possibility. Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season” says an HBO spokeswoman.
“Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone” says a crewmember to E! Online.
The once critically acclaimed show has seen its reviews drop off and ratings continually dive to new lows ever since it botched the finale of its otherwise superb first season.
ABC’s serial drama, which was originally scheduled to be back in January, has just announced that it won’t be returning until March 4th.
The full three-month hiatus avoids competition with the Winter Olympics in February, and also means the show will air its remaining fourteen episodes straight through the rest of the year without going into repeats.
It also gives the producers a chance to give the show a bit of an overhaul. Solid premiere numbers have not held up as ratings have dropped and initially enthusiastic critics have raised concerns over the series’ direction.
