Showtime has cancelled the dramedy series “I’m Dying Up Here” after two seasons. Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Michael Angarano, Clark Duke, Erik Griffin and RJ Cyler led the series about the 1970s L.A. stand-up comedy scene. [Source: TV Line]

The Luminaries
Eva Green, Eve Hewson and Marton Csokas will star in a new six-episode TV series adaptation of Eleanor Catton’s Man Booker prize-winning novel “The Luminaries” for BBC Two and TVNZ.

The story is set on New Zealand’s South Island against the backdrop of the 1860s gold rush. The series will start filming in New Zealand in November and Catton has adapted the scripts with Claire McCarthy (“Ophelia”) to helm. [Source: Variety]

50 States of Fear
Sam Raimi is set to direct “50 States of Fear,” a new original series for NewTV. Van Toffler and Gunpowder & Sky will produce the show with Tony DiSant. Tommy Coriale and Debbie Liebling will serve as executive producers. [Source: Deadline]

Doctor Who
A week ahead of the “Doctor Who” new season premiere, and The BBC has released a new clip from the episode with Jodie Whitaker taking over the role. Interesting this clip is the same one that leaked onto Reddit two months ago and was pulled almost immediately afterwards. The new season kicks off Sunday, October 7th on BBC One.
