TV News: Deadly, Difficult, Suits, Off-Site, Godless

Deadly Class
Along with doing the next two “Avengers” films, Joe and Anthony Russo are also working on the TV series adaptation of the comic “Deadly Class,” the 1980s-set tale of a teenage outcast named Marcus who gets enrolled in a school that teaches kids to become fearsome assassins.

The Russos have now taken to Instagram to show off some of the actors in costume. Benjamin Wadsworth, Maria Gabriella de Faria, Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, Liam James, Michel Duval and Luke Tennie lead the cast. Difficult People
Hulu has canceled their Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner-led original series “Difficult People” after three seasons. The third season saw Billy finally met his romantic match with Todd (John Cho), his first real boyfriend who is also an advertising executive and navigating ‘couple’ things having only had Julie as a soul mate previously. USA Network is reportedly eyeing the renewal of its popular legal drama series “Suits” for an eighth season, even as two key stars – Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle – will likely exit at the end of this year at least as series regular if not entirely.

The contracts of all “Suits” original cast members are up after the next season. Adams and Markle would join fellow “Suits” original cast member Gina Torres who left last year and will soon topline a proposed spinoff series. [Source: Deadline]

Fox has given a script commitment plus penalty to the hourlong adventure drama “Off-Site” from 20th Century Fox TV and Len Wiseman’s studio-based Sketch Films. Wiseman calls it a “new approach to the traditional adventure genre” without archaeologists or treasure hunters.

Aaron Berg is penning and Wiseman will direct the story of a former chaos agent for the CIA who’s recruited to Morocco by a UN Investigator to help unearth the mysteries behind a bizarre cult rumored to be in possession of a mystical threat. [Source: Deadline]

Following several trailers, Netflix has released one final one for their Scott Frank and Steven Soderbergh-produced western limited series “Godless” starring Jeff Daniels, Michelle Dockery, Jack O’Connell, Scoot McNairy, Sam Waterston, and Kim Coates.

The story is set in a mining town in the Old West made up entirely of women, where an outlaw attempts to hunt down his former protege. “Godless” hits Netflix on November 22nd.
