HBO and the BBC have set the premiere dates for the big-budget adaptation of Phillip Pullman’s novel series “His Dark Materials”. The BBC will air it first in the UK on Sunday November 3rd and HBO will air it on Monday nights from November 4th in the United States. Netflix is turning Harlan Coben’s mystery thriller novel “The Woods” into a Polish six-part original series to launch in 2020 while Leszek Dawid is directing. Set in two time spans: 1994 and 2019, the story follows a Warsaw prosecutor who is still grieving the loss of his sister from twenty-five years ago – the night she walked into the woods at a summer camp and was never seen again.
But now, the discovery of a homicide victim – a boy who vanished along with the prosecutor’s sister – reveals evidence that links him to her disappearance. [Source: Deadline]
“Orange Is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba has been cast alongside Chris Rock, Jack Huston, Jason Schwartzman, Ben Whishaw, Jessie Buckley and more in the fourth season of “Fargo” on FX. Specifics of Aduba’s role are being kept under wraps.
Set in 1950 in Kansas City, two criminal syndicates – one Italian, one African-American – have struck an uneasy peace which includes the heads of both families trading their eldest sons. Noah Hawley will again return as showrunner, writer and director. [Source: Variety]
“Coach” star Craig T. Nelson is set for a recurring role on the upcoming third season of CBS’ hit comedy series “Young Sheldon”. Nelson will play Coach Dale Ballard, a Little League baseball coach who butts heads with George Sr. (Lance Barber) about Missy (Raegan Revord) wanting to join the team.
