TV News: Dark, Ill, Sweetwater, Rebels

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for “Dark,” their upcoming original series entirely created, produced and shot in Germany which will debut worldwide on Friday, December 1st.

The ten episodes first season is set in a German town in present day where the disappearance of two young children exposes the fractured relationships among four families. There’s also a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986.

Ill Behaviour
Showtime has acquired the BBC’s six-part comedy thriller series “Ill Behaviour” starring Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex”), Tom Riley (“DaVinci’s Demons”) and Chris Geere (“You’re the Worst”). A November 13th premiere is planned.

Geere plays a recent divorcee who uses any methods, conventional or otherwise, to save Charlie (Riley) when Charlie announces that he is abandoning chemotherapy treatment for his cancer. Caplan plays a doctor who is a raging alcoholic. [Source: Showtime]

Starz has ordered a TV series adaptation of Stephanie Danler’s novel “Sweetbitter” straight to series. Six half-hour episodes of the scripted drama are planned with Danler writing the first episode and executive producing alongside Stu Zicherman.

The story follows 22-year-old Tess who, shortly after arriving in New York City, lands a job at a celebrated downtown restaurant where she is swiftly introduced to the world of drugs, alcohol, love, lust, dive bars, and fine dining. [Source: Starz]

Star Wars: Rebels
Disney XD has released one final trailer for the upcoming fourth and final season of the Emmy-nominated animated series “Star Wars Rebels” which returns October 16th.

In this final season, the Ghost crew joins the growing Rebel Alliance, struggling to unite against the Galactic Empire. However, when a new Imperial threat arises on Lothal, Ezra leads the crew back to his home world to defeat the cunning Grand Admiral Thrawn.
