Cynthia Cidre (“Cane,” Mambo Kings) has been hired to write a reboot of 80’s soap “Dallas” for cable network TNT says The Hollywood Reporter.

The initial idea was to revolve around J.R. and Sue Ellen’s son John Ross and Bobby and Pam’s adopted son Christopher.

Original stars Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, and Larry Hagman were approached two months ago about potentially reprising their roles.

Rex Is Not Your Lawyer
Jerry O’Connell has replaced “Heroes” star Sendhil Ramamurthy in NBC’s dramedy pilot “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer” starring David Tennant as a lawyer who coaches citizens who will be representing themselves in court.

Now on hiatus, ABC has announced a return date of March 30th for the sci-fi remake. The show will move to 10pm Tuesdays in the post-“Lost” slot.

Fox and Dreamworks are developing a werewolf TV series entitled “Howl” reports Variety.

The story is described as an epic family saga about warring families of werewolves in a small Alaskan town. Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin will serve as showrunners.

CBS is developing a drama based on “Kiss the Girls” author James Patterson’s upcoming novel “Private” which Jason Cahill (“Fringe,” “The Sopranos,” “ER”) is adapting.

The story centers on ex-Marine and former CIA agent Jack Morgan, who takes over his father’s detective and security business.
