The most iconic character from the original 1996 Coen brothers “Fargo” movie, Frances McDormand’s Minnesota sheriff Marge Gunderson, will NOT appear or be reconceived for FX’s upcoming TV series adaptation.

MGM Studios TV group and digital president Roma Khanna says: “She’s [Gunderson] not in it. It’s not a retelling of the same story, because on so many levels that would be foolish.” [Source: THR]
