CBS has announced its mid-season premiere dates with Frank Spotnitz’s “Ransom” premiering Sunday January 1st before moving to Saturday nights the following weekend.
Then there’s “Training Day” starring Bill Paxton and Justin Cornwell which will kick off Thursday February 2nd, and “Doubt” starring Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox which will debut Wednesday February 15th. “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” and “Superior Donuts” have yet to set dates. Cinemax has reportedly picked up the six-episode limited series “Rellik” which is described as a serial killer tale that unfolds backwards.
“The Missing” creators Harry and Jack Williams are re-teaming with Two Brothers Pictures and New Pictures to produce the series for BBC One with the show to air in the UK and U.S. next year. Sam Miller (“Luther”) will direct. [Source: Deadline]
ABC and IMAX have locked the dates for their “Inhumans” TV series. The two-part premiere begins an exclusive two-week run on IMAX screens around the world on September 1st. Just over three weeks later, ABC will kick off the eight episode run from September 26th. The episodes will without any hiatus or missed weeks. [Source: Deadline]
Jamie Foxx is set to executive produce a limited series about legendary singer Marvin Gaye. Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones of de Passe’s Jones Entertainment will produce the event series which will be shopped to linear and digital channels.
