Altered Carbon
Lela Loren (“Power”) is joining the second season of Netflix’s sci-fi drama “Altered Carbon” in the series regular role of Danica Harlan. Harlan is the charming and ambitious governor of planet Harlan’s World and has the support of the people, but keeps an uneasy grip on the political players who surround her.

Loren has already completed production on her role in the new season which stars Anthony Mackie as Takeshi Kovacs this time out and airs in 2020. [Source: The Live Feed]

Marianne
Netflix has premiered the first trailer for the French-language horror series “Marianne” starring Victoire Du Bois, Lucie Boujenah and Tiphaine Daviot. In the series, a novelist realizes her terrifying stories are coming true, and she returns to her hometown to face the demons from her past that inspire her writing. The first season kicks off September 13th.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels
Showtime has announced that spin-off series “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” has begun production and in doing so have released a first look photo of stars Daniel Zovatto and Nathan Lane. Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishe, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann and Ethan Peck also star.

Set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time and place deeply infused with Mexican-American folklore and social tension. Rooted in the conflict between characters connected to the deity Santa Muerte and others allied with the Devil, the series will explore an exciting mix of the supernatural and the combustible reality of that period. Mr. Robot
USA Network has released the teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of “Mr. Robot”, the Emmy and Golden Globe winning series which returns on October 6th. As we last saw, Elliot and his sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) were becoming the pawns of nefarious hacker group, the Dark Army, led by White (BD Wong). Angela (Portia Doubleday) learned that her real father is Phillip Price (Michael Cristofer), the head of multinational E-Corp which everyone has been trying to take down.

Pretty Little Liars
U.S. teen drama “Pretty Little Liars” is getting a Bali-set Asian remake following a deal made between Warner Bros. Television and digital streaming service Viu. Set in the fictional town of Amerta, the remake will be localized in Bahasa and filmed in Bali as part of the Indonesian and Malaysian adaptation with “The Night Bus” filmmaker Emil Heradi directing.

Like the original, the remake follows a group of four estranged students whose little clique had fallen apart when their former leader went missing. After rejoining, the girls then begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure threatening to expose their darkest secrets. Anya Geraldine stars as Hanna, Eyka Farhana as Ema, Valerie Thomas as Sabrina, Shindy Huang as Aria, and Yuki Kato as Alissa. [Source: Deadline]
