TV News: Bones, Thrones, Torchwood, Luther

With one of the best procedural ensemble casts on TV right now, Fox has renewed “Bones” for a seventh season.

The show has risen in the ratings from an 8.9 million first season average to regularly hit between 9.8-10.6 million viewers per episode this season, peaking in mid-April with 11.45 million viewers.

Game of Thrones
Ratings for HBO’s new big budget series are heading the way the network was hoping – upwards. EW reports that after the first two weeks held steady with 2.2 million viewers for their first airing at 9pm, the third episode climbed slightly to 2.4 million viewers.

Meanwhile figures are in from all of HBO’s various platforms (online, On Demand, etc.) for the series premiere episode with the total viewership sitting at 8.7 million viewers.

Torchwood, Luther, Page Eight, BBC
A recently released one-minute BBC original drama trailer features a couple of scant seconds of footage from a number of upcoming high-profile shows.

Amongst them is the very first actual footage from “Torchwood: Miracle Day” (with a great one-liner); the second season of the Idris Elba-led “Luther”, the impressively cast thriller “Page Eight” which stars the likes of Rachel Weisz, Bill Nighy, Ralph Fiennes and Michael Gambon; the Alzheimer’s drama “Exile” with John Simm and Jim Broadbent; “Case Histories” with a surprisingly muscular Jason Isaacs.
