True Blood
Former “Law & Order: SVU” and “Oz” star Chris Meloni is in talks to play a major role in the fifth season of HBO’s “True Blood.”

The actor would play an incredibly powerful vampire in the series, but the role’s name or length in the series is unspecified. [Source: True Blood.net]

Pan Am
ABC’s “Pan Am” seems to have been effectively cancelled, but the network brass won’t admit it as such. The network is continuing production on the original thirteen episode order plus an additional ordered one bringing the total up to fourteen, but that will be it for this season.

Reps confirm the network plans to air the remaining episodes and the show “is still in contention for next season” but the decision won’t be made until the upfront announcements in May. All bets are however the network will not pick up the series for another season.

After a strong start with 11 million viewers, “Pan Am” plummeted in the ratings to around 5-6 million viewers per episode. [Source: E! Online]
