On My Block
The coming of age comedy series “On My Block” has been renewed for a second season at Netflix. The show follows four bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through the triumph, pain and the newness of high-school set in LA’s South Central neighborhood. Diego Tinoco, Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Jessica Marie Garcia, and Ronnie Hawk star. [Source: THR]

The upcoming six-part limited series adaptation of “Catch-22” at Hulu has seen a casting shuffle. Kyle Chandler has joined the series in the role of Col. Cathcart, a role which the show’s co-director George Clooney was going to play.

Clooney will instead play Scheisskopf, the training commander at the cadet school of leading character John Yossarian (Christopher ). The smaller role allows him more time to focus on camera duties. Grant Heslov, will also direct a portion of the series. [Source: Variety]

How Hard Can It Be?
Made Up Stories has optioned Allison Pearson’s new novel “How Hard Can It Be?,” a sequel to her popular “I Don’t Know How She Does It,” for an upcoming TV adaptation. The story follows a woman approaching 50 and dealing with all the challenges of midlife in this day and age – worn out marriages, menopause, ageing parents acting like kids, and more. Sarah Jessica Parker starred in the film adaptation of the previous novel in 2011. [Source: Coming Soon]

L.A.’s Finest
NBC’s drama pilot spin-off of the “Bad Boys” film franchise has finally got a name – “L.A.’s Finest”. Gabrielle Union reprises her role of single and loving it Special Agent Syd Burnett who leaves the D.E.A. and joins the L.A.P.D. where she’s partnered with a working mom (Jessica Alba). Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad will executive produce. [Source: Deadline]

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle
Amazon is set to stream a pair of new series from DreamWorks Animation – a serialized comedy series reboot of the classic “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” which will go up from May 11th, and the spin-off series “Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny” to debut later this year.
