Netflix has ordered a ten-episode third season of its critically praised dramedy “Atypical” which stars Keir Gilchrist as an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. Emerald Fennell (“Call the Midwife,” “Pan”) has scored the role of Camila Parker Bowles, the second wife of Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall, in the third season of Netflix’s “The Crown” launching in 2019.
Fennell joins previously announced cast members Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Jason Watkins, and Marion Bailey along with “God’s Own Country” breakout Josh O’Connor who will be playing Charles. [Source: Variety]
Untitled Hilde Lysiak Series
Jim Sturgess (“Hard Sun”) is set to star opposite Brooklynn Prince (“Florida Project”) in the untitled Hilde Lysiak series in the works for Apple’s streaming service. The ten-episode mystery drama series will be directed and executive produced by “Crazy Rich Asians” helmer Jon M. Chu.
Prince plays a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father (Sturgess) left behind. While there, her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury. [Source: Deadline]
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Amazon Prime Video has announced a December 5th premiere date for the second season of its Emmy-winning comedy series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and released the first trailer for the new batch of episodes. Rachel Brosnahan stars as the titular character who deals with the fallout of the rising comedian’s takedown of Sophie Lennon, as she and her manager Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein) work their way up to success.
