TV News: ABC, Bloodline, AMC, Empire

ABC has given extra episode orders for its various series. Comedies “The Goldbergs,” “Black-ish,” “Modern Family” and “The Middle” are all set to get two additional episodes each, bringing their counts up to 24 episodes.

On the drama side “Grey’s Anatomy” gets two additional episodes which brings its total to 24. “Castle” and “Once Upon a Time” both get one additional episode to bring their totals to 23, while “Resurrection” gets an additional episode for a total of 14. [Source: Variety]

Netflix has announced a March 2015 premiere date for its original drama series “Bloodline”. All thirteen episodes will be made available simultaneously in all the streaming service’s territories at that time, whilst a vague teaser trailer is now available on Netflix’s Youtube Channel.

Much of the team behind “Damages” are behind this Florida Keys-set drama about a family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Shepard, Linda Cardellini, Enrique Murciano, Jacinda Barrett and Sissy Spacek star. [Source: Variety]

“The Walking Dead” and “Breaking Bad” producer AMC Networks plans to invest $200 million to buy a 49.9% stake in BBC America, the U.S. cable network that is part of BBC Worldwide. BBC Worldwide will retain a 50.1% stake in the joint venture, but AMC will take over operational control of the network in a way that is “consistent with BBC’s editorial standards and policies.”

Along with being the U.S. home of “Doctor Who,” BBC America is known for shows such as its original series like “Orphan Black” and “Copper” along with rebroadcasting of various British shows. [Source: Variety]

Courtney Love is set to guest star a hard rocker named Elle Dallas in FOX’s upcoming hip hop drama “Empire”. Love’s role will recur throughout the season.

This marks her second TV appearance, following a recurring role on the currently airing final season of FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”. [Source: The Live Feed]
