Though its been rumoured for months, online speculation ran rampant last week that the Fox network was “on the verge” of cancelling its long running real-time action series. Sadly the articles didn’t contain any new information, the network simply hasn’t made the decision yet.
One of the reasons for it taking so long seems to be that 20th Century Fox is pursuing other potential options with EW confirming rumors on Friday that Fox has approached NBC about picking up the series should Fox opt to cancel it.
Given the show’s weakening ratings and rising costs though, the chance of an NBC pick-up is considered a long shot. Poor reviews for this season haven’t helped, personally I think the ‘Dana Walsh abusive boyfriend’ subplot this season beats the ‘Kim chased by a cougar’ Season 2 subplot for stupidity.
The first photos and trailer for the second half of the first season of the “Stargate” spin-off have gone online. The photos can be found at Daemon’s TV. The remaining ten episodes of SGU’s initial season kicks off at 9pm on Syfy on Friday, April 2nd.
Not including his guest stint as a villain on the last season of “24”, Jon Voight has signed on as a lead in this Fox drama, his first regular TV series role says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows a conman (Jimmy Wolk) juggling two lives in two Texas cities with two women (Adrianne Palicki, Eloise Mumford). Voight plays one of the women’s fathers, a Texan tycoon.
David Keith also stars as the conman’s father.
