TV News: 24, Diabolic, Rectify, Line, Mad

We’re two months out from the premiere of “24: Live Another Day,” the ‘event series’ return of Fox’s action thriller series “24”. Today, EW has posted ten official publicity photos from the new season with many of the major characters being introduced. Click Here to see them.

The Diabolic
Gary Oldman is set to produce the serialized horror drama series “The Diabolic” for Entertainment One (eOne) Television. Douglas Urbanski and Josh Weinstock will also produce while Daniel Kay (“Timber Falls”) will write the pilot script.

The story follows a broken but brilliant exorcist who falls in love with a single mother. Her young son is possessed by an ancient entity with diabolic intentions that not only threaten the boy, but the very fate of mankind. [Source: Deadline]

Sundance has announced that the second season of “Rectify” will begin airing on Thursday, June 19th at 9pm on the cable channel. The new season consists of ten episodes, up from the previous six of the first. [Source: TV Series Finale]

Mr. Selfridge
ITV has commissioned a 10-episode third season of the Jeremy Piven-led period drama “Mr. Selfridge”. Filming will begin in April.

Piven plays charismatic American entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge, whose business in London’s Oxford Street has become a much-loved institution. Season two is currently screening in the U.K. and is averaging 6.4 million viewers and a 21.6% audience share. [Source: THR]

Line of Sight & The Money
Proposed series “Line of Sight” and “The Money” will NOT be moving beyond the pilot stage at their respective networks. AMC is passing on ‘Sight’ which starred David Morrissey as a plane crash investigator. Meanwhile HBO has opted out of David Milch’s “The Money” which was about wealth and corruption among the super elite. [Source: Deadline]
