TV Land and Darren Star’s critically-acclaimed series “Younger” has been renewed for a twelve-episode third season. Announced at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, the news comes a week before the comedy premieres its second season starting January 13th with two back-to-back episodes.
Sutton Foster stars in the series as a 40-year old woman who pretends to be 26 in order to get a job in the highly competitive world of publishing – and succeeds. Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Nico Tortorella, Miriam Shor, Molly Bernard, Peter Hermann and Dan Amboyer star in the series.
Also announced today is that actors Matthew Morrison, Camryn Manheim, Kathy Najimy, Martha Plimpton, Josh Pais, Bobby Flay, Michael Urie, Ice-T, Richard Masur and David Wain are all set to guest star in the second season.
During the presentation, TV Land execs also revealed that they have ordered a pilot for “Nobodies” which will be executive produced by Melissa McCarthy.
Inspired by Groundlings alums Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras, the story is inspired by the trio who, in their real lives, watched as their friends from The Groundlings went on to star in blockbuster comedies and win Oscars while they toiled away in Hollywood
Davidson, Dorf and Ramras will play themselves as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script that they’ve developed. The pilot will shoot in Los Angeles in the winter.
