TV Casting: Vartan, Rhames, Weller, Elwes

Bates Motel
Michael Vartan (“Alias”), Rebecca Creskoff (“Hung”) and Kenny Johnson (“Sons Of Anarchy”) have joined the cast of the second season of A&E’s “Bates Motel”.

Creskoff plays a socialite who befriends Norma. Vartan plays that woman’s divorced older brother who develops a crush on Norma. Johnson plays Norma’s estranged brother. [Source: TV Line]

A Day Late and a Dollar Short
Ving Rhames will star in Lifetime’s telemovie adaptation of Terry McMillan’s bestseller “A Day Late and a Dollar Short”. Shooting begins this summer for a 2014 premiere.

The story follows Viola Price (Whoopi Goldberg), who after learning that her next asthma attack is likely to kill her, sets out to fix her fractured family. Rhames plays her husband. [Source: The Live Feed]

Sons of Anarchy
Peter Weller, who has directed several episodes, will step in front of the camera for a role in the upcoming sixth season. The new season debuts on FX on September 10th.

Cary Elwes has scored the lead role in USA Network’s sci-fi pilot “Horizon”. Elwes will portray Max Hartman, a mysterious man who leads a double life in wartime Washington DC.
