There has been talk of a fourth film in the “Rush Hour” franchise for a few years, with almost all of it coming from Jackie Chan’s camp. The acclaimed Asian action star last year said he would return for one more time to the buddy action comedy film series.
His co-star, comedian Chris Tucker, has remained quiet on the issue and hasn’t discussed the project until today. Speaking on ESPN’s podcast, The Plug, Tucker says he and Chan are all set to do one more and that it’s moving along: “It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”
The original films followed culturally mismatched Detective James Carter (Tucker) and Chief Inspector Lee (Chan) who make for an effective team. Their last outing together was ten years ago, the biggest change since being the disgrace of film series director Brett Ratner who would almost certainly not return.
