The first two episodes of the upcoming third season of HBO’s “True Detective” are set to screen in cinemas as HBO is partnering with Alamo Drafthouse to conduct screenings in eighteen cinemas across the country on December 18th.
The new eight-episode season tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Mahershala Ali, Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff star.
The screenings are free (with a $5 voucher purchase for food and drink), and the one-night-only event happens weeks before the drama returns to HBO on January 13th. Details of participating theaters and where to obtain tickets can be found at DraftHouse.com.
